Water~Stone Review features three contests:
Jane Kenyon Poetry Prize
Brenda Ueland Prize for Fiction
Judith Kitchen Prize in Creative Nonfiction
One of these genre contests is featured each year and resurfaces again in a three year rotation. The contests are read by an outside judge each year. Contest entrance fee is $15. We do allow simultaneous submissions but do not reimburse entrance fee should the piece be pulled from consideration.
Prize is $1000, publication and two copies of the journal.

Water~Stone Review announces the 2012 Jane Kenyon Poetry Prize in honor of Jane Kenyon, a distinguished poet who died in April 1995. Jane Kenyon is the author of five books of poetry, the most recent being Otherwise: New & Selected Poems (Graywolf Press).

Contest Guidelines
• All submissions should be original, unpublished work. Submissions accepted October 1 through December 1 (postmarked date), 2011. Work is read December - April 2012.
• Manuscripts must be typed or printed in proper format on white paper, in English, one side only. Cover letter should be brief. Author’s name should not appear on the manuscript.
• Submit up to three poems, ten pages total. Please send three copies of your submission.
• Please include a self-addressed, stamped envelope (SASE) for notification of results. Manuscripts will be recycled, not returned.
• An entry fee of $15 (check made payable to Water~Stone Review) must accompany your submission. (Only one submission per
